the other week i went to a large 4 bedroom house to sort out a rad that would not work.
customer rightly suspected the lack of 22mm pipework as the main artery.
i agreed and some days later i went back to do the work...lifting floorboards.
the boiler flow and return were in 15mm from about 2 meters from the boiler.
started to replce it with 22mm...
got to a junction in the upstairs landing and decide to take out one board i cant see under.

I found a 1/8 closed 15mm standard isolation valve on one of the pipes.
the wb 42kwcdi was feeding 5 rads beyond this iso...did not count kw's but must have been around 8/10kw and only the last one struggled to get hot......amazing

yes...replced a about 15m of 15mm for 22mm and thought i'd remove the iso also.
it was just info that 15mm pipe with an iso on it still nearly fed 8-10kw worth of rads !!
