Decided the "pop-up" waste on our new basin was too awkward for Granny's poor old arthritic hands, being stupidly located behind the mixer tap, so I bought a swivelling plug type waste to replace it.

The old waste is of course much longer due to the ball and socket for the lever, so I needed to extend the bottle trap telescope up by about 3" to take up the difference. Would you feckin' believe it? I had installed the bottle trap high and I actually had enough in hand to take up the gap so instead of turning into the usual plumbing nightmare the whole job was sorted in 5 minutes and I headed downstairs for a liquid reward.

I'm wondering what's going to go wrong today in recompense for that bit of good karma...

Does anybody want a little used pop-up waste? Make me an offer.

Right, the question is, how much did you charge the dear lady for your 5 minutes of magic?
