Hi, hope someone can advise... the toilet when gflushed is rising to the rim. My husband has plunged it and put a snake thing down it to no avail. He just went outside the house and there is an almighty puddle of water! From the drainpipe it is attached to a box of some description - should he take that apart? Thank you.

well, my husband has done it. lol. he took the drain apart outside and followed it to the next one and shoved the snake thing down again - released a huge blockage of branches and garden waste...flushes fine now. only issue is that he scratched all the enamel on the bottom of the toilet while shoving the snake down, looks awful :(

It's unlikely that your toilet bowl is enamel - more likely glazed porcelane. The "scratches" may well just be metal marks and should clean off or polish out.
