When my boiler was installed, the installer was 50/50 on whether I needed a plume kit given the location of the boiler. In the end we opted against as none of the neighbours had installed plume kits on the row. Recently in the cold weather the plume steam is sending the motion detection on my CCTV system crazy, so I now want to install one.
Are they considered part of the gas 'system' therefore requiring authorized installers?
If doing DIY, is there any recalibration required on the boiler? Or are they fit-and-forget?
