I'm busy plying my chipboard floor with 9mm ply for karndean in my kitchen.i've got an island with a 3m x 1m x 100mm thick block worktop with 100mm thick gables.do you think i should remove the gables and cut them down, ply the floor and refit the gables or just ply around the gables?

I'd scribe round the gables. After all the Karndeam and any caulking will handle minor discrepancies in the edges (up to a couple of mm)
