Pointing

When pointing you need to ensure that the mix is compacted in the gaps between bricks, it helps if the sand is slightly moist when mixing enough so that if you put some in your hand you can squeeze it and it will clump together but wont drip moisture out of it, you should really use 3:1 mix as 5:1 aint strong enough in my book!

It will be just as much of a bugg er using guns as doing it by hand.

Hope this is of some help ;)

1:3 definetly as country gardens says. If you are going to brush it it once youve got it all in strike it with a jointing tool and youll be surprised at how much it compacts down, then refill them and finish it off with the jointing tool again. Make sure you measure the mix with a small bucket to get the quantities even so that it is an even colour when you mix up different batches. you could point it with a wet mix but you need a steady hand for that!
