Hello
I have a polycarb conservatory roof which leaks. I had my chap put silicone along the spars externally but there are still a couple of leaks. I believe there is 'gasket tape' that can be used to seal the joins. Could anyone recommend a brand or comment on the process generally. I thought I might ask an odd job to do it but does it need a specialist?

Also, the 'open' edge used to have some tape along it, which rotted and blew away. Same question about that - which brand/type and is it ok to fix it myself?
Would appreciate some guidance. ..

Silicone won't do it, you need a polymer such as fix all clear. Gasket tapes will be no good. Google t bag tape or polycarbonate breather tape but you'll need to fit a plastic sheet closure over the tape. What thickness is the poly?

Many thanks for this. Can't quite remember what thickness of poly it is. Will have to see. Have found the closures online. Seems counter-intuitive to put plastic over breathable tape. Why would you need both?

Because the tape when exposed to water for a long period of time goes soggy and comes off. The trim keeps it dry and, yes, somehow the air still gets in!
