Having spent 12 yrs plus working for the 2 biggest repair and replacement companies in the uk specialising in carrying out burglary repairs for all the insurance companies, i saw some things in my time including roof tiles being taken off by burglars wearing Hi-viz vests to gain access into the loft and subsequently through the ceilings into the first floor as only the ground floor had PIR's, saw some very ingenious ways to get in but never saw one polycarb sheet removed but theres always a first time i guess.

If they want to get in they will, if it means using a cordless jigsaw to cut a hole in the roof then they will. I've seen them do it to door panels to get in, they'll even do it to locked internal doors, a lot of asians fit locks to internal doors for one reason or another but that not stop a burglar high on class A.

IMO get a German Shepard or a Rottweiller, never saw one house burgaled which had a dog, burglars won't risk getting bit and leaving drops of blood, SOCO will only come along and get all the DNA evidence they need, looking for fingerprints is a waste of time now, most burglars wear gloves or take their socks off and use them if they suddenly feel the urge to break in.

Heres my burglar deterant......
