I'm leaving the woodwork last. I'm not looking forward to sanding down the woodwork. So my question is can the liquid sanding prepare the wood (which currently has gloss on it). And is the Dulux once satinwood going to give a reasonable finish.
Many thanks to anyone who can help. I'm a DIY beginner.

Hi Jim,

Do you mean ESP (easy surface prep)?. You can use this ok on previously painted trim ie glossed.

I'd always do two coats of a trade satin but if you want to use a one coat paint have a go and you can always do another coat if needed. I havn't used it but most one coat oil finishes are called thixotropic paints and you can thin and stir these to make them act and feel more like a normal paint, so you could do this if you realise it'll need two coats
