polystyrene balls coming out wall

Hi,

We had our porch done today so there was alot of drilling etc, after the guys had finished I walked around the side of the house and noticed there was a few hundred polystyrene balls by the side of the house.

Is this something that is common? (Building work isnt one of my top subjects!)

I am looking to sale the house next year and dont want this to cause any problems for a surveyor!

It's a common problem, Don't worry about it as long as the porch is all sealed up nice.

It was a form of cavity insulation, blown in thru small drill holes. Didnt agree with the electric cable which was also run in the cavity years back, made it sweat/over heat and in some cases cause a fire in the cavity.

As long as the escape holes have been blocked up you should be fine.

Don't forget to pick up all of the polystyrene balls and count them as you can ask your fitters how many they took out to know if you have lost any.
