Hi Guys, I wish to connect 1.5mm swa to a feed for a fully weatherproof switching unit to operate a pond pump. Can somebody point me in the right direction of maybe a suitable joint box that will accept swa and t+e and also be fully weatherproof?
thanks

thanks luminare, but i already have a switch box. i need a joint box to join the swa to the t+e that feeds the switch box

can you please explain more about the set up you are trying to achieve..

you aren't supposed to use T+E outdoors..

and outside electrics is notifiable under part P of the building regulations..

sorry ColJack i shall try and explain better.
Ihave 1.5mm SWA from my consumer unit (RCD protected) whick runs to nearby my pond where i have a switchbox which operates a pump and filter. The flex from the switcbox is dble insulated cable. Iwish to connect the SWA to the flex via a fully weatherproof joint box, Hope this helps.
I do understand the work is notifiable also.

go to maplin and buy a weatherproof box (they do have them) but be sure to connecthe banjo of the swa to get a good earth

thanks breezer. do i need to connect to the banjo even though the swa has a cpc running through it?
