I'm replacing a porch floor as it had sunk and cracked after 40 years (2" cement on clay). I have dug out about 12" below the floor level, put put in 6" hardcore.

Will it be ok to put in 6" of screed (1:4) or would be be better to put in a 4" slab and then 2" screed. There was no dpc and no damp. I will tile floor.

Thanks

Thanks for quick reply.

I'm doing this for the inlaws and they live over 100 miles away.

If I were to lay the slab on Sat, would it be ok lay the scree the same day / sunday or do I have to for the slab to dry.

Thanks again

could really do with a couple days drying time but with time pressing Sunday would be ok.
