how deep should the foundation be for a dwarf wall type porch ?

and also, is there any way I can build in some support to take the weight of the tiled roof rather than rely on the strength of the glass frames ? Are there some hidden metal upright supports available?

I would use at least 12" deep, or a few inches into the subsoil. You don't want your porch to go drifting away from the house. You can get UPVC glazing with steel tubes in them for supporting a small roof. Not sure how they last though.
