Hello All

Currently building my extension, roof has been planned for using posi joists as we didnt want a post/piller in the new space, its a fair size extension 8m x 11m

Anyway looking for any pictures people have using these possibly with a opening for a skylight just to get some ideas as never used these before. Pictures of when they are installed not finished roofs

Any do's and donts when using them any kind of info really

Thanks in Advance

We put a lid on a big job (7.7m wide) in Burton, but with composite raised tie trusses that weight nearly 100kg per truss. Some were made into triple trusses (nearly 300kg's!). All had to be craned up.
The floor joists however were posi's and were 450mm deep x 120mm wide and made the blocks look tiny...

Thanks for this are they fairly easy to work with.

My roof will be done in them and am just assuming they can be hung pretty much the same as timber just wondering how you build the opening for a roof lantern

I look at the depth of those things and wonder if a couple of steels and normal timbers wouldn't be a better option

The truss/Easi-Joist company will design the joist layout around the opening. No dramas.

They are humungous.

On the plus side, we had no trouble getting pipes and services through the floor and joining plasterboards onto a single joist was easy.
