Hello,
I’ve installed new radiators in my house (7) and new piping throughout. I refilled the system and now the pump makes a whirring sound and the boiler cuts out after a few minutes of providing hot water. It’s an open vented system and a Worcester 14/19cbi boiler. I’ve identified a few possible causes / tried a few things, just wondered what the great and good here thought.
  1. I didn’t open the three way valve before draining / refilling. Could this cause an airlock?
  2. All the rads are full and no air comes out if I bleed them but even when hot water is supplied they don’t get any heat at all.
  3. I don’t see any water leaks.
  4. The pump is noisy and gargles but if I bleed it no air and little water comes out.
  5. I’ve opened the valve above the boiler and water squirted out so that appears full.
  6. The f/e tank has water in and works ok.
  7. I’ve tried ‘rocking’ the pump but it didn’t do much.

Cheers….
