New Forum Help Post Preview

It would be nice is the quick reply preview 'mock inserted' the post as it does when you actually submit with a real preview, but this would require an extensive re-work, which isn't on the cards at this point in time - for the future it possible.
Yes, it would be nice, and that was really my point. I have to take your word for it, but it seems odd that it would "require an extensive re-work" given that the functionality we're talking about is already there, just 'one click away')!

Kind Regards, John

It's not so much that functionality, its the insert it preview / refresh preview / remove preview and replace with actual post without reloading the page that would require work.

FWIW I do agree it would be a far more elegant solution ;)

Or people who want previews could put up with a few more mouse clicks than they would ideally like.

I'm not saying their ideal would not be more elegant, or should be disregarded, but with finite resources I don't think it should be high up the list of priorities. Getting a decent Wiki, for example, is of more significance.

FYI - it is not necessary to close the preview - just click in the reply box and it goes away.
