potterton 30 HE condensing boiler

My potterton 30HE boiler fan indicator on control box flashes and hot water runs cold intermittently,also should there be water in condensation trap?Can anyone help please.

do you mean it gets hot then goes cold - hot - cold etc, or does it sometimes work ok and sometimes not.
yes there should be some water in the condense trap

Thanks Mick, the system works normal ie central heating and water,now and again the hot water runs cold and the light flashes on the control panel (fan) but it is only now and again.
