Has anyone got any tips on how to fit the rubber flue gator on the potty envoy without it splitting.
Maybe gaz the potty man could help.

I've already split a new one and i'm going back armed with 2 more along with about 20 other bits to get this lovely boiler going again

I once heard of someone whose Mother had a Potty envoy replaced by Potty with another make after their engineers had failed to get it going after many visits.

I did not think that there were many Envoys left although we still have an Envoy PCB in stock.

Fairy liquid detergent and hot water is all you need . You can also try silicone lubricant as an alternative to the detergent .Boil one litre of water and place said gater into water . Remove old gater by use of sharp craft knife , liberally apply around metal surfaces the aforementioned . lubricant . Now the awkward bit ,both ends of gater ,pulled over and back onto itself , place into vacant space of old gater , unroll lower part of gater onto heat exchanger top , replace metal spring type circlip , and the same for the connection , above , onto the flue assembly .As you must be corgi registered , and I am making the assumption that you are , test the boiler operation to ensure that there is no leakage of condense water thro the gater .Before everybody starts shouting , you MUST be competant , to do this .Hope this info is of use to you .

Mr . Agile ,there are still quite a few Envoys installed and puffing away merrily . Unfortunately we still have to repair them when they fail .Hot surface ignitor ? , they all fell out of my van , and into my shed , when I left the employ of Heat-team .Shed , commonly referred to as :Stores Two: .Mike.

Cheers Mikeyboy.. the design of the gator has changed since the one with the spring clip thingy.
The new one is as stiff as hell and has a metal insert in it.
Anyway i managed to sort it by stickin it in boiling water for 10 mins to soften it. On this one you can only turn half af it inside out or it splits.
So the method is put the gator on the inner flue and turn half of the bottom section inside out, then push the flue hood/top cover into position and roll the gator down into position.

Cheers for your reply and yes i am a fully paid up member of the dogs club.
