I had to replace my EP6002 a while back and my local CH specialist told me it was no obsolete and replaced by the EP2 which shares the same backplate and wiring so it was an easy swap. Although the EP2 setup was a bit fiddly even after discovering a piece of paper with "addendum to the instructions", there seems to be an inherent problem in that the "off 3" time for hot water will not go beyond 10:30pm. There's no such problem with the CH programming. I've had this same problem now with no less than three EP2's. Anyone got any ideas? The local CH shop scatched their head and said they would get in touch with Potterton (Baxi?) but I'm still waiting to hear back.

Just a guess, but is it possible you have set HW on 1 to pm not am?

So the last off cannot operate.

I've set up HW as follows: ON 1 - 6:15am OFF 1 - 8:00am, ON 2 - 12:00pm, OFF 2 - 12:05pm, ON 3 - 5:30pm OFF 3 - 10:30pm. This last one I would like to make 11:30pm but 10:30 is the latest it will go.

Hi Splinternet,

Just wondering if you ever solved this. I'm having the same same issue. I called Potterton and was told to put a link in between 1 and 5 on the backplate but that didn't do anything...

What's even stranger is you can reduce the Off3 time but then can't put it back...so you can change it to 10:25 but then can't return it to 10:30...very strange!

I have an ep2 and I cannot programme hot water 3 past 4.30pm, I currently have it programmed, on 6.30am off 7am,on 12.00 off 12.05, but I cannot programme period 3 past 4.30pm, any body else solved this problem

Hi, I am having exactly the same problem hot water can't be times on after 2230hrs. Did anyone fix this, or just have to buy new timer?

I emailed Potterton, this is the response:

"Unfortunately this would more than likely be a product issue, as there is no fix solution for this sort of fault.

You'll need to return the unit to the place of purchase, with the proof of purchase, and exchange."

I plan on contacting my boiler supplier, but I doubt they will be very helpful. Plus if I remove it to exchange, that will leave me without a Timer!

I have exactly the same situation re "off 3" Hot Water. I cannot move past 4:30 pm and when I reduce it it will not increase back to that so am now stuck at 4:20pm. The CH is fine and all other amendments. This is really frustrating if no solution and seen as a fault to be fixed via a replacement out of warranty.
