Potterton Lynx - CH works but not HW

Hi,

I have a Potterton Lynx Electronic (LCD Combination Boiler) in a flat I bought and it has developed a fault. I think the boiler is probably at least ten years old, though I can't be sure.

HW only works if the CH is switched on. If not, no LCDs come on and I just get cold water. The CH is fine. The boiler LCDs still remain off when I use the HW with the CH on.

I didn't notice until I switched off the CH for spring. It worked fine last summer.

Any pointers before I have to fork out hard cash for a CORGI registered plumber would really help.
