Hi,

any one got any ideas ?

Potterton Osprey 2 CF 150 cycling on/ff.Pilot lights and main burner ignites after approx 1-4 seconds all off, then starts again and continues.

sensing electrode, spark and pilot assy found to be very sooted up indicating poor flame or/and gas/air ratio incorrect

pilot tube clear, gas valve replaced,Ignitor pcb replaced. burner assy's look ok with no cracks.ventilation ample. injectors clear.thermostat replaced.

thinking that when main burner lights it is pulling pilot away from flame sensor and then gas valve is shut off.By removing sight glass allowing additional air into burner assy over comes the problem and the burner stay alight - cannot find reason why this is happening - any ideas ?

thanks in advance

Definately some potentially serious problems with the osprey, time to call in a GSR boiler engineer! not a diy matter
if you are GSR apply to join the CC where we will be able to help you properly (see forum rules ref: diy gas work) ;)
