Hi All,

The pilot does light but there is no main burn. I can see a small spark every second or so with the cover removed. Does anyone know what's causing the boiler not to fire up properly?

TIA
Dazz

What else could it be and how can I check....got a cold house and screaming wife!

Case will have to be removed in order to check so obviously no advice can be given......apologies......

Get someone out who is gas registered , surely the best option considering the wife is on yer case.

We replaced the gas valve and still the same problem. It appears there's no power being sent to the main gas valve only the pilot so can I assume it's a PCB?

You need to carry out the flow checks before you start replacing parts or carry on wasting money on parts you don't need.

It may well be the parts between the pilot and pcb.

YEP

Read the flow charts and keep replacing parts, will be a lot cheaper than getting someone who knows what they are doing

I'll be signing up to the BG Homecare 100 scheme with a £99.00 call out but the earliest they can come is Tuesday next week.

Is there no way of getting the main valve to open?

Have you tried a sharp smack with a lup hammer?
Don't forget to check gas pressure too.
Hope this helps :|
