i would get your thermocouple replaced anyway you said you bent it towards the flame. that’s all part of the safety devices of the boiler and are set at distances so if the flame lifts it shuts the main gas off. And I think the 80 is a negative pressure fan so unlikely to be blowing the pilot out

The clear hose from the APS was perished and had split in two where it connects onto the fan. I never thought to take the cover off the front to check.

I've got the same problem. Can you tell what the APS is and where I can find it on the Boiler please.
