When running water for a short while and then turning of the tap everything is OK, If the water water is run for a prolonged time when turned off noises come from the boiler, these vary from gussing air sounds to banging, any idea's as to what the problem might be.

When you turn off the hot tap look on the pcb to see if the red light goes out if it doesn't the boiler is sticking in dhw mode. because the hot water isn't being drawn off it's boiling and the safety overheat is shutting off the pilot. it's usually limescale on the plastic pin inside the dhw diaphragm housing. strip, clean, grease and reassemble.

Thanks for that. The red light does stay on, what does the dhw look like and where is it situated.

If that's the fault your rads should be getting hot too, and it would take long time before everything overheated . C Heating would stay on as long as red light is on and tap off.

If not that then the pump is likely culprit. Undo screw in middle of end and insert small screwdriver to feel shaft rotating.

Do a search on this forum for DHW flow switch.
