Hello everyone.

I must apologise as my first post is to ask for help, but iam in desperate need of some assistance.

The CH stopped working about a month ago, so i recently got hold of a new PCB for it, about 2 days before i put it in the Hot water also stopped working.

There was no power to the thermostat and the pilot light kept going out.

So i fitted the PCB and a new thermocouple. The pilot light now remains lit, and i now have power to the thermostat. But still neither works

when i turn the thermostat up the pump starts to run and the fan is running too, but the boiler fails to light. when i turn on the Hot water the LED on the PCB comes on but yet the boiler fails to light.

I have checked the Hot water flow switch which is fine, i have measured the esistance across the gas valves which appear in spec, all the other switches appear to be ok, but i ain't no boiler engineer.

So i have just installed a new transformer, just guessing now, but its no different.

So everything seems fine but the boiler is just not lighting on either CH or Hot water.

Is there anything i may be missing?

Regards

Matt

Yeah it is mate.

I have been doing some reading and realised the fan should be running all the time slowly, there is no fan running. will this top the boiler firing up?

It should run all the time to get rid of pilot fumes if its not doing this then it may not create enough pressure when at full speed to activate APS.

Are you sure the fan is running, as per your original post?

My boiler has now started working again.

Now i can here the fan running all the time.

So obviously that was the problem.

we had some high winds that may have started it again. But all is well now.
