3 year old boiler with intermittent problems. Posted query on here about a week ago under similar subject on 23rd Jan 05. Anyway it started working fine for a couple of days when lunch time today the RCD on the electrical fuse box tripped, after a process of elimination its the boiler! After 3-6 minutes of it being on and working ok the trip switches the socket electrical circuit off into which the bloier is connected for the whole house! Does this suggest that there is a short somewhere? Following the last posting, I checked the PCB and there are some darker/brown areas around two of the components where they enter the board.

Anybody with any ideas

A couple of diodes in the middle of the board always look as though they've burned the board but I haven't known them cause trouble. The current an RCD trips at usually isn't enough to burn anything. Remember it's a current to earth, not like fuse.

Look for signs of leaks around your motorised valve(s) and pump.
