Hi guys,
Yep, New Year's Eve and my boiler has packed up too. Absolutely nothing happening except the startup procedures, i.e. it tries to boot up 3 times and the red light then comes on permanently.

This is what it did tonight:
at the third attempt, it fired up for 1m 20sec then red LED came on, green LED flashed (slowly, 2 times a second). Then red LED goes off, and then comes on permanently. Nothing has happened since. There's no banging, scaping or other untoward noises.

We think the wall stat is ok - checked it's working with a multimeter.

The boiler is 4 years old and has been working fine up until we noticed it was a bit parky over dinner tonight.

Boiler code at top right is CHHS 103 0307 if it helps.

Can anyone shed a light on the possible cause? Can anyone recommend a Potterton/CORGI specialist in the Redbourn/Harpenden area - our most recent plumber has disappeared without trace a couple of years ago.

Thanks
Paul

Most common fault with the Suprima is the PCB although there are a couple of things that can give the same fault, check the ignition lead insulation at the spark electrode end to see if it's backed off a bit & the spark is tracking to the mount instead of the burner.

press the reset button for a temporary fix & have a 3rd attempt at a pcb fitted (but should be ok as it involves a complete boiler re-wire)

Tried that twice, maybe three times now - no go I'm afraid.
So you think the PCB may have just died?

Getting very chilly here - happy new year!

Errr, where's that, and what's it look like? I've no idea, as I'm not familiar with this sort of thing. I leave gas etc to experts.

HNY,

Best advice to you,is have BG. carry out a fixed price repair, renewal of p.c.b . for £130 ,exceptional value.

Came down this morning and the boiler is still trying to fire up - flames in the peep hole, but only for a minute at a time, then it gives up. Keeps doing this cycle - weird.

But will try to get BG out as soon as possible - thanks for the advice.

Until then it's gonna be a bit nippy in here for a few days....

My suprima 60 was doing something similar.
I removed the PCB and re-soldered a number of dry joints which generally were the off-board connection sockets. That was about 2 months ago and it cured that problem..
