It's not looking good for our boiler which failed during last night- pool of water beneath it this morning- I expect the heat exchanger may have ruptured when it froze.. am awaiting the coroner's report!

What should I be looking at as a replacement? We have a 4 bedroom detached 10 year old house with a new new 280 liter Megaflo- and 13 radiators (inc tiny ones in the WCs)

Would we be looking at condensing boilers?

What would you recommend?

Thanks

All you can fit these days are condensing boilers.

Personal choice, in no particular order: Worcester, Vaillant, Broag Remeha

You have not told us where your boiler is located and if its in a shed and not protected by a frost stat.

If it has the new type of PCB fitted then a new heat exchanger is something to consider and they can be obtained second hand fairly cheaply like £60.

But most leaks on those in normal situations have been the connections into the HE that I hav attended.

Kevinthegas from this forum is in S'ton and can give you a competitive quotation.

Add Viessmann with a five year warrantee to the boiler names above.
