Potterton Suprima - CH only with WH

I have a Potterton Suprima 100 boiler. Have tried to put the central heating on today for first time in a few months and it won't come on at all unless the water heater is also on. It used to work fine with just the central heating on. I don't want to have the water heater on the whole time that I have the central heating on. Any ideas? I have reset the boiler once and also the electric timer unit.

Thanks Tony - I'm guessing that needs a boiler engineer? Do you have any idea how much it could cost?

Depends on what type of valve you have.

In the London area we would charge our fixed diagnostic fee of £84 plus the cost of a new head at about £20 but costs vary from firm to firm and a little according to your area. Thats IF thats the cause of the problem!

Hi - I PM'd ChrisR on Sunday night but haven't heard anything yet - any other recommendations?
Also the problem has worsened - the hot water now doesn't work if the heating is on and vice versa - is this to be expected if the motor valve has broken?
