Hi folks, can anyone point me in the right direction.
My sons powermax 155 has stopped working, (no hot water or CH) boiler starts and green light comes on, after a short time the lock out light comes on. the system is locking out with the overheat thermostat.

check simple things like is there enough pressure in system. it could be a number of other things though such as pump is knackered or o/heat stat is faulty. But for goodness sake do not play with this boiler unless you are corgi and seriously ofey with this boiler. this boiler has killed a number of people due to certain faults they develop.

Thanks for that just going to have a look now, just what to do some fault finding if i can to give an engineer a better idea when we ring. Any ideas of a company around coventry trying to avoid BG.

Surely this applies to any boiler?? And as for powermax's they are no more dangerous than any other boiler unless they are not set up correctly or some muppet fixing ceilings in another flat breaches the flues and then 2 er, anoynmous for legal reasons gentlemen mess with the gas valve and seals without really understanding what they are doing......the lesson is gas appliances can kill........setting up the gas valves is easy.....as long as you follow manufacturers instructions and you have the correct equipment....if you don't you shouldn't be touching them!

BG killed the other powermax owners with their negligence/incompetence. Baxi are your best bet and I would recommend a CO detector.

Thank you for all your replies. I have booked the Baxi Heat team they are coming on Tuesday. £269 fixed price parts and labour plus 12 month warranty. Will post on here what the problem was with the boiler and how we found the Baxi Heat team service.

Don't think you will have any problems with their service.

They are the only ones I would entrust this work to.

I will not go out to these boilers and sadly there are many like me.
