Hi there, we had a power cut last night(found that out this morning when we saw fridge wasn’t working, checked fuse box, and switched power back on ).
Just now we found out our central heating didn’t work. Couldn’t figure out how to reset it. Can anyone help please! It’s freezing cold :( (Hot water is still working though. )
We don’t know anything about central heating system.. the boiler is Grant; year 2001. Burner is RDB kerosene.

Many Thanks!

Not convinced that any part of the UK has had freezing weather yet this winter, but understand that you may be a bit chilly without heating.

It appears you have an oil fired boiler.
Was it burning when the power went out? If so it could have overheated. Look in the boiler manual and try to locate the 'overheat thermostat' or similar title. It may need this resetting by pressing a button.

Thank you. Heating was actually turned off, before the after-midnight power cut. I googled that after the power cut, we either need a reset or the valve is broken or needs resetting. So we’re trying to figure that out now

And Wales is cold :(

It's depicted on the instructions that OP uploaded. Try pressing that.

Also, if you have a cylinder for HW, that will still contain hot water, is that what you mean by...
Hot water function is working fine. I could hear water going into the cylinder. But nothing happens after I turned on the heating. The time setting is correct after the power cut. So this should have something to do with the valve..?

if you have manually opened the valve as shown in that vid, you have not found or fixed the fault.

Yeah the valve is probably broken. We’re aware that it needs to be replaced by an engineer eventually.
