I have a shower powered by a Stuart Turner Showermate 46407 pump. Until a few weeks ago, it was very powerful and had been for the 12 years we've lived in the house (a bungalow). However, recently the water pressure has noticeably reduced. It seems to me that the problem is with the hot water, since if I turn the thermostatic mixer all the way round to the coldest setting the water comes out powerfully.

I know the problem is not with the hose or showerhead as both have been replaced recently. We live in a hard-water area so do have issues with limescale.

Before I pay to have a plumber come out and look at this problem, is there anything I could check or tweak myself? I don't have much expertise in this area.

Have you checked the inline strainer in the hot water supply to the pump. It may be blocked.

This is what they look like.
