Power socket in wardrobe

I've got a pretty good sized wardrobe that is about 4 foot by 3 foot, between 2 rooms, so built in. I'd like to put a power socket in it, which would be an ideal place to leave some unsightly things like modem router etc out of the way. However, are there any building regulation issues with putting a power socket into a built in wardrobe? It'll be mounted into the brick on the side, but I want to ensure there are no issues with the surveyor when I sell in teh coming year.

The socket is fine, but electrical equipment in an unvented space such as a cupboard could be dangerous.

My little Virgin cable moden gets as hot as hell and is in a well vented space, the wireless Netgear router is cool running.

Could you vent the space via some discrete 22mm holes ?

Building Regulations Part P covers all electrical work in domestic dwellings. So the work has to be properly designed and installed in a safe manner.
This specific work is not notifiable if the socket is an addition to an existing circuit.

Its shocking just how hot some electronic kit gets. Laptop transformers are small but pack a punch! As well as cable and Sky boxes, routers, Plasma TVs.

Though in a large wardrobe I dont think I'd worry about something so small, as long as clothes weren't draped over it.
