Can anyone advise if the following is normal, safe etc?

When my mother turns her Kettle on whilst the Microwave is running, the Microwave appears to slow down (tone being emitted changes). I haven't timed whether this is the case but mother believes the kettle takes longer to boil whilst the mcrowave is on.

Regards
Kevin.

I'm sure you will have fairies at the bottom of your garden, they probably followed you back from one of your regular visits to Hampstead Heath!

Princely, it is due to voltage drop on that circuit. Nothing to worry about.

Do you have an electric shower? That will have the same effect on the whole house - all the lights go dimmer and our central heating appears to "sound slower" with the shower on.
