I have a Powermax Combi, the boiler starts for a few minutes along with a few bangs in the boiler then cuts out. The rads don't heat up, there is hot water okay. I suspect the pump, as it appears over hot, including the flow pipes around it. Although not very noisy, there is a slight tapping noise from the pump, and I opened the mains cover to find a small amount of water around the terminals !

I've vented the pump, and each time there is a fair amount of air passing through the release valve. - Please could anyone verify what they would guess it to possibly be ?

Thanks, yes the pump was too hot. Replaced pump, and now all okay. On inspection, the old pump was in a state and didn't turn to well.

Sorted out for £50, which was not too bad.
