So my window currently has a frame around it. It is just a matter of ripping this wood out and plasterboarding? I want to tile all the way in.

There is a space inbetween the inside frame and the wall. Is this cold bridging? Do i need to keep this when installing the plasterboard?

It is my understanding that on new builds they are trying to design out cold bridging as much as possible for energy conservation etc.

Whether ripping the window frame out and plasterboarding would be acceptable on a current build i could not say and you would need to seek advice from a surveyor and an energy assessor to ensure it meets guidelines.
