I'm going to install a recess shower door and tray, but need advise on the best way to build the stud walls. Tray has 3 tiling upstands.

Should I plasterboard (12.5mm) to floor then line with plastic sheet, fit tray, then fix 9mm aquapanel down to tiling upstand and fill any gaps with sealant.

or would it be better to use 9mm plasterboard and tank.

or install tray against timber and then just use 12.5mm plasterboard + tank.

or is there a better way.

Thanks

Depends on the depth of upstand.
On the resin trays its normally about 3-4mm.

In this situation I would position the tray and mark on the studs the height.
Plasterboard with 9mm around the base and on top with 12.5mm to give a step for the tray to slide under.

Gripfill the joints then tape and tank it to the floor.

Double check the tray fits neatly then run beads of silicone on walls where the tray will make contact.
Fit the tray in and silicone any gaps between thetop of the upstand and base of the 12.5mm plasterboard.

It should be all flush and ready to tile and give you a watertight job.

If your upstands are a different thickness then adjust what you use with regard to 9mm plasterboard possibly substituing ply.
