Hi
I'm going to be re-tiling two complete walls in my bathroom and have started by removing the old tiles. They came off easily enough, but have partially taken off the skim plaster leaving a rough coat of what I think is a lime based plaster. There are also some big holes (4cm wide, 3 cm deep with rough edges) which need filled where some old pipework was chased into the wall behind the old tiles, and along the top of the new bath which is slightly lower than the old bath so doesn't quite fill the existing wall cutout.
How would you suggest I fill the holes and prepare for tiling (with 300x400 ceramic tiles)? Can I just fill the holes with something (plaster?) and tile directly on wall, or does it need re-skimmed first?
