I have Ipe decking that is about three years old, and has gone a dark brown after a three year build up of decking stain and dirt. After watching their demonstration video, I bought a 10ltr bottle of Prepdeck, with the intention of taking it back to the natural wood underneath. I started the cleaning process with a jet wash, and was surprised at how much was removed by cleaning alone. I ended up spending two days meticulously cleaning every board at close range with the jet wash, and have probably removed over 90% of the stain.
Now that the boards are nowhere near as dirty as I anticipated they would be, I am wondering if I could dilute the Prepdeck before applying (that stuff isn't cheap!).
Anyone used Prepdeck diluted with water? Would this just be a false economy?
