I have a Worcester 24CDi Combi Boiler and it has been losing pressure for a number of months but this has recently got worse, and water is leaking out of the overflow now.
Can anyone advise me on what the problem could be before I call in the gas man, as I've had it serviced before at a cost of £632!!! (for descale and other parts), and I don't want to be ripped off again.
All advice is very welcome!
Thanks
Claire

1 its losing pressure

2 it's coming out of the "overflow" prv that should lift at 3 bar

so its losing pressure

get the expansion vessel pre charge checked

renew the prv

advice don't mention being "ripped off by plumbers"

or nobody on here will help you

we all do this free

your " overflow " is your Pressure Relief Valve inside your combi venting to outside.
if the pressure on the gauge on your combi is below 3 bar, the P.R.V is passing it should only lift at 3bar
better off replacing P.R.V.
if you fill system to between 1 and 1.5 bar, fire boiler on central heating and observe pressure gauge. if pressure rises to 3 bar, then the expansion vessel either needs re charged or if its gubbed replaced

Thanks for quick reply, but it's all dutch to me!

Is it a big job to replace this?

Thanks

Thank you, that's terrific.

NB. Was not implying that you guys may rip me off - apologies for any insult. I really do appreciate your help.

na the prv is easy to recharge the expansion vessel means draining the boiler

not exactly brain surgery

2 hours tops including the tea

the bacon sarnie is optional

I'm having similar problem.

I have a sanuier duval combi, 300 series i think. The pressure keeps dropping in the last few days to below 0.6 bars. It recommends to keep it pressured to 1 bar min. Its easy to repressure, just turn the blue level under boiler. However after a few hours, pressure drops again. Have no idea why this is happening. Any ideas anyone?

The plonka i brought my house from has the pressure release pipe coming out the wall and down below the decking, so its near impossible to tell if theirs any water dripping down there. I'll have to see if i can push a bit of cloth on a long rod under the decking to find any potential overflow of water.

is ther a compression fitting on the prv pipe internally you could slacken off and see if its wet fnarrr fnarrrr
