good evening all,

my boiler is potterton . the release valve with red cap (above the gauge) on expansion vessel is leaking water. I have now released the pressure to zero and it is still dropping water.

what is wrong with it and what can I do?

OK, so the PRV is below the red expansion vessel (EV) beside the boiler? You'll need to depressurise the system, loosen the pipe into the vessel catch all the water coming out and then replace the PRV with one that's rated the same. Then whilst all that is off, check and set the pre-charge pressure on the EV to what the system requires.

If any of that has gone over your head then I'd advise you get a pro in to sort it out for you.
