No idea why !

Fuse is ok - changed for a know good one, and power gets to its plug.

Press the start button and you hear nothing - normally things start to make noises - like the motor and pump, but silence.
Not even a sound of anything trying to move.

I opened the case up - and everything inside looks connected electrically wise, no loose or corroded wiring.

I cant see any bushes on the motor ? thought they may need replacing.
Motor turns freely ( well the cooling fan spins at the top )

At the bottom where the pump part is it looks like there has been a water leak down there as it is all scaled up.

Any ideas ?

without a manual you have little hope other than use a meter to see what does / does not work

I wonder if its the pressure switch

Thanks Breezer, you might have hit the nail on the head.

- I did a little more investigating today, there is a tiny switch inside a plastic housing, and part of that housing is inserted into the top of where the 'water' side of things start, but it is free to slide out of where it fits and has black marks on it as if there used to be an 'o' ring or something similar sealing it in.

Am I right in thinking that if this is the pressure switch it's job is to not start the motor/pump until there is water in the unit to operate the switch ?

As it is loose maybe this is why it wont operate at all ?

Am taking it down to the local Agri' repair place on Monday that does all our mowers and things to let them sort it out.

Thanks again

Gerry
