In order that my better half can pressurise the boiler if I am away, can you advise me whether it is ok to leave the braided loop permanently connected so that it merely needs the tap to be opened (then closed)when pressure ok.
Also I see there are a number of brown fibrous washers in the ends. Should they be removed as they are falling apart ?
Thanks

Hi Jim.

The filling loop should be disconnected when not in use.

Do you need to 'top up' regularly.

Sounds like you need some new washers.

Andy.

Hi Andy
Thanks for the guidance. I havent topped up for a few months so assume things are ok. The "washers" I referred to do not have holes in them. I can best describe them as like a penny but made of fibre. There seem to be more than one in each end of the loop. There seems to be the odd one in the water supply pipe too.
