Hi,

I've got a ceiling where the coving was removed, the paint was added on after the coving was fitted, and in a few layers. So now there is a ridge around the ceiling near the wall where the paint ends. I know if I paint the ceiling now, the ridge would be visible through the new paint - how do I get rid of the ridge?

Thanks for advice in advance!

Yep, it's the only way really. Take a decorators knife to anything that is thick and scrape it back, then sand down the rest once that is done. It may need a skim fill afterwards, which is easy enough but a bit annoying, but if you're lucky, it won't. Then, just paint the ceiling.
