Hi
I've been trying to paint bare mdf cabinet door, I primed using Leyland Acrylic Primer Undercoat, applied 2 coats but square edges are not being primed which didn't look nice after Dulux satin wood top coat. Would adding PVA to primer and re do will solve, if so how much to add?

Or what do you recommend?

Thanks

Don't use a water based primer on mdf edges.

I use a few coats of shellac grain filler, sanding between coats and this gives a lovely smooth surface to receive the top coat.

But you can use oil based primer or undercoat or top coat, two coats, lightly sand between them and very light sand/scour the last coat.

Or mdf primer.
