I am trying to remove burgalar bars from my windows and I got all but one set off - the set that is stuck has the screws directly into the brick and the screws will not budge, they will not loosen at all. Any ideas on how to get the screws out?

You can get "screw extractors" have a google
Can't you whack them to loosen them, or get a crow-bar behind them and lever them out?
Or drill out the heads, take off the bars and then get some mole grips on the bit of screw left sticking out
