Hi there,

I have changed a ceiling rose this morning from a fitting with three lights back to a standard single lightbulb fitting. Before the change the three bulb unit (in the dining room) was working fine on the switch.

Having made the chage this morning the dining room switch still works, but now the bathroom switch also turns on/off the dining room light.

Any ideas of what I may have done wrong?
Thanks

Sounds like you have mixed your switched live and loop live conductors when you swapped the rose. You will need to power off, disconnect your wires, using a multimeter test to identify your switched live then work from there.

Have a read of this thread:
Hi I have basic experience with electrics. I have changed many bog standard ceiling roses, sockets, adding sockets to a ring but I have recently received a couple of light fittings (with 3 bulbs on each). I took the old fitting down and forgot the most obvious thing to mark the wires/take a photo to remind me where each one went so now I'm stuck as I have connected the wires and now none of the downstairs lights work, I have a test meter and I know I've obviously just got a wire mixed up (either the switch, supply or the feed to next light) how do I sort this out please?
Thankyou in advance
