Hello everyone.

About 5 weeks ago I had an engineered american black walnut wood floor layed in my hall, lounge and dining room. When I was in the shop, floors 2 go, I asked them about the knots in the wood because they appeared to be filled with a filler. They assured me it was part of the wood, of which I knew it blatantly wasn't, and it would be fine. Now the filler has started to come out in many different places and looks terrible. Is there anything that I can do to stop this getting any worse?

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Go back to Floors 2 Go and complain. After only 5 weeks use it sounds like a manufacturing defect.

Don't do anything to the floor yet. They need to see the problem.

Filled knots are common in engineered floors - the more rustic the grade the larger and more of them you get. They shouldn't be coming out though.
Get a rep from the shop to see the affected areas.

I'm sorry to say but you just went to the wrong shop. Floors2go are exactly what their name represents. it's all cheap chinese crap. If you are going to complain, don't do anything to the floor except take pictures, keep all reciepts and evidence of fitting etc.. You probably have no proof of their assurances, they are all well trained sales people who know nothing about wood flooring. but you have a case.
