Hello anyone, HELP! Have just had 150mm x 19mm solid oak laid throughout downstairs. We are having a nightmare, it seems that in some areas the boards are lifting along in a ridge, creating a mini 'trampoline' effect. Boards were left to acclimatize, the house is a 1930's style, with extension after extention, so a few corners had to be gone round. The man who fitted it for us has done this before, so we dont think its him! BUT, since the floor has been put down we have had a really hot weather week, then really humid, then really wet, could this be a reason? He also said that when he was laying the floor that there were 4 differences of levels with the areas we were having the floor, which he had to deal with first. The floor is a floating one. What else do you need to know? Is it just a case that he probably hasnt left enough of a gap around the edge? He is a really good mate of ours and I dont want to have to keep dragging him back to try to sort it out!
