Product for sealing laminate cut-out for sink

Thanks for the reply Andy

My only real reason to look for a different solution than sealant for the cut edges, was the mess involved in application of sealant, and to be able to paint 2 coats of the adhesive on and let it soak on

I will obviously be running a bead of sealant on the top of the laminate to bed the sink onto

Is that a suitable/sensible alternative ?

Sean, you can use the contact adhesive but I normally find silicone easy and readily available to use. I squirt it on around the bare chipboard and smear it around with my fingers. (wearing latex gloves)

I use foil tape , waterproof and no chance of missing a bit since you can be sure what area you have covered.

first ive heard that contact adhesive isnt waterproof?
itcan be used in wet situations an outside areas - says so on the tin as well.
ive always used it to seal worktop cutouts but maybe ive been wrong?

On the spec sheet , should not be used in areas subject to immersion.
